Hi Donna, I'm like you, I didn't see this thread until today. I'll post the link to the page for what you will need. It's called Realflight G2 with USB interlink. If Allan is right handed, get the mode 1, mode 2 if he is left handed. This thing is great! If he ever wants to get into flying a model of anykind, this will help him out a great deal. Can customize almost everything in the program. I know it is rather expensive but if you compare it to the cost of repairing a model numerous times due to crashes, especially a helicopter, it is well worth the cost; not to mention the hours of enjoyment it will provide. Have a look here on Tower's site. www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXANC2&P=7then go to www.realflight.com/and read about it.

G2 will really makes a difference. I had to learn the hard way...crash & repair. Now I can try stuff on the sim before trying it for real and not have to worry about crashing. Like I said, It will pay for it's self in the money you will save from crash repairs. I just bought an add-on volume 3 for mine. You will probably like the sim too. It's addictive!! ;D Go for it!
