Good price Moonie. What's the grant about? Weren't you getting a see through case from some OU thing you joined?

me too, me too!!!
post your system stats Donna... I bet between all of us we have enough spare hardware laying around the living rooms to build you at least two "killer boxes"!
I will donate labor and any "extra cables", beyond my share of spare parts! Come on gang: rally 'round the queen!
serious>>>> I will build you a new box, with help from my fellow "party ani-males" ( oops, forgot the 'ani-shemales')

It was an online web building course, Learn Direct, not the OU. I finished it last February but they said they couldn't obtain the promised case. After lots of aggro they promised me a Canon digital camera instead. I got a call last week saying it was on its way !!!!! The grant is from the county tourist board who are trying to dispel Lincolnshire's 'back woods' image. I told them I needed a respectable rig to maintain my web presence and they coughed up. There are dozens of grant schemes here to provide peeps with IT gear. I've got a taste for it now so I'll see if I can score some more. I mean, what's the point of a rig like that without a 21" OLED screen to go with it ? ;D ;D ;D

Assembled it today and it started up second go. First go I had the Power Switch connector in the wrong socket. ;D I guess I'm a geek now. I'm going over to kick ass in the Pit overclockers forum. ;D Not. ;D

First thing I'd do is replace that stock HSF. Runs too hot and that pad melts and get gooey all over the cpu. Just make sure you keep it because the HSF contains the warrenty information in case you have trouble.

Hiya moon, ive just built a new rig myself and ive been discussing with Ed cooling solutions, ive opted for a Vantec Aero flow A4-C7040 as suggested by Ed, i got it from www.overclock.co.uk it was £24.94 they also do the Arctic Silver Ceramique @ £6.93 delivery was a bit steep at £9.34. The Fan is really quiet and the heatsink is a work of art not like the normal straight through slotted types. Take a look at the review on this site its got some nice pics of it www.pcabusers.com/reviews/aeow/p1.html Have fun with your new rig moon and if ya need any UK sites dont be afraid to ask as i'm always looking for bargains Trev
