I slept on it, I thunk on it, now I hope I have reached a conclusion! I will cable my HDD's into the first RAID (IDE3) slot, disable the RAID function, and then Master the DVD into IDE slot 1. ....And reset my bios to boot from IDE3, almost forgot that! I can see me now running around trying to find what I did with the 2000 boot-floppys! Which reminds me! I better make sure I made some! Who knows? It should work! If it doesn't it will just mean another 20 minutes putting the spaghetti back where I found it! (feedback is appreciated ;D)

be nice....or ups will suffer major backlogs!! (J/K!) ...I am a little discouraged right now . Since I am not a "plastic-user" kinda guy and live on an Island in the middle of the water in the middle of a bunch of marine mammals in the middle of 'B.F.E.', it tends to a little bit harder for me to secure toys than most people ;D

EUREKA! I solved the problem but it cost me a little cash. (oh well, what doesnt now days?) I went out and bought me the TDK VELOCD UE5200 www.tdk.com/cdburners/velocd52xusb2.html, a high speed R/RW external burner that does: 52x write ,24x rewrite, and 48x read/rip when connected to USB2! Yanked out the old (4 months) burner which does 24/10/40, installed the DVD in its place. GUESS WHAT? Everything works!!! Watching a DVD right now, and wow!~! Its like haveing a HDTV! (only smaller ) Thanks to my new vid-card this is totally rad! (did I just say that???)

glad nobody's overly excited here! .... i had to go external ..they had it on the shelf, I lost my visa somewhere, so: voila! poof! now I have a top of the line burner! And I didn't have to beg my friends to let me use thier plastic to buy a used/rebuilt(that's scary!) piece of hardware! I still have no additional IDE slots though, Soooo I will just have to add another beast to the LAN-zoo later I guess! So Beat me flog me!

My son uses a TDK and hasn't had a bit of trouble with it in 3 years. I think you'll be satisified.
