My new camera came with Camedia software. When I transfer the 60 second movies with this software they are a quicktime file. I cant open them in any video editing program. How do I change this? I want to be able to take still pictures off the video.

I don't know what your options are in your particular software, but if you have an option to save in another format, you may be able to save as mpeg, or wmf, etc.
Do you have quicktime installed?
Doesn't the camera software have advanced settings, as to source, save options, etc?
You would think, that since they provided the software, you should be able to do what you desire.
Sorry, I don't know much of anything about video, other than viewing it.

According to their site it will play avi files but will only create files in quick time.

Well, that sucks!
I think you have to pay for an editor that works for qt files.
I'll look if I have anything on a CD that might work.

I'll keep looking around, too.
I'm pretty sure I have something somewhere.
