I found this nifty little app, that will turn your text to speech, save as wave files, if you want, read the clipboard contents, and other neat stuff, as well. There's also a link on their site, to microsofts voice engine for "mary, sam, and mike" It works great for me, and even has around twenty voice variations, as well as pitch, and speed tuning.
