Found this really nice software for creating slide shows. Burns auto-start VCD's, create linkable thumbnails for web pages, make executable file to email slide show and more. 60 day trial, I've only been using it for 2 days now so I can't tell you what it does when 60days is over. Some of this shareware stuff keeps on working. www.digitalphotoslideshow.com/

I have some other app's that will do that already, but after looking over the site... it looks FINE!
It's only $19.95 for the prog, and $30 plus shipping, if you want it on cd.

IrfanView and XnView, mainly...both are free.
I can also make slide shows with Adobe photoshop elements.

I don't know. I take it you want to make a slide show, that is self running, and that you can give away???
I think I have a program that does that, but I'll have to look around in my tool locker...

This is from my IrfanView 3.80 help files...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> How to start IrfanView slideshow from a CD?
1. Method: The easiest way is if you have Nero Burning ROM software installed:
1.1. Create and test (play) the slideshow in the Slideshow dialog.
1.2. Press in the slideshow dialog the button Burn to CD. (Note: the Nero-PlugIn for IrfanView must be installed)
1.3. Choose the burn option, Data-CD is default/recommended.
1.4. Insert empty CDR/CDRW in your burning device and burn it.
1.5. Done.
2. Method: Manual or special slideshow CD:
2.1. Copy IrfanView files into the root CD folder (you can also copy an INI file "i_view32.ini" with your settings)
2.2. Copy your images into the CD folder called e.g. "images"
2.3. Create a TXT file (in slideshow dialog or using Notepad) with the names of images. If your image files have names like "image1.jpg", "image2.jpg" etc. the TXT should look like this:
.\images\image1.jpg .\images\image2.jpg etc.
In each line is a file name with relative paths (relative to IrfanView, i_view32.exe).
Save the TXT file e.g. as "slideshow.txt" in the CD root folder.
2.4. Create the "autorun.inf" file (Notepad). Write in the file 2 lines: [AutoRun] open = i_view32.exe /slideshow=slideshow.txt
Save "autorun.inf".
2.5. Done. Burn the CD using your burning software.

Man, that's a lot of typing, especially if you're going to make a show with a few hundred pictures.

Yeh, I couldn't cut it, myself.
HP gave me several ways to make slide shows, with existing software, so I've never made any to CD's.
There's still a few app's out there, that can do it for you, for free. They may, or may not be as good, though.
I think html-helper.com has a proggy or two, that will do the job.

I know it's been a while, and you probably have what you need, but this app is free, and related to what you are doing. I don't know if, or how you could burn them to disk, but the slide shows work well if you have the java vm. www.arachnoid.com/SlideProjector/index.html
