...how do you like the i7 set-up? One of my new computer builds wish list is an i7 build (the other wish list is an AMD Phenom II quad).

I've always gone with the AMD chips before but this time I went intel and I can say the i7 is a nice set up. Altho I only have 3gig memory, still works well enough for what I do (32 bit) If and when I put W7 on here, I'll probably go with 64 bit and then I'll ad more memory I have no complaints!

Always been AMD here, also. I'm seriously considering i7 machine with 64bit Win 7 Pro. Why 64bit? ---- because I've never used it. My wish list build for this has 6 gig memory. But I still debate in my mind the "why 64bit" on occasion. I don't want to install it and regret it... ..... but I don't know why I would regret it, either.

be interested to know what you went for in the end mark(if you ever see this) and what you think of your choices.

I still have XP on my i7 pc, I did put Windows 7 pro on my netbook and I like it. It just the fact of moving everything from one version to the other make me putting off getting W7 for my main rig. The wife is way over due for an upgrade (running an older socket A barton chip) and the price is good for a dual core set up, I 'll put W7 pro on her newer set up
