teeheee I have two of them. My laptop is in the living room and I hate having clutter in here so I leave the external drives down stairs. I need an end table with a drawer in it so I can hide stuff.

Its a Aspire 9410z. Its a couple years old. it may be time to buy a new one. I've never opened a laptop before.

Replacing the drive is physically very easy, there is usually access panel on the side or bottom of the laptop. The harder part for the inexperienced will be duplication the data on your old drive to the new drive. I have a few usb docking stations that handle just about any drive so while it is easy for me to dupe a drive, you may need help on that part.

right i found a pdf file with the instructions needed for removal it's just a case of 3 screws at the back to get the cover off then 2 screws on the hard drive before sliding it backwards slightly and lifting out,
i can send you the file if you need to see it but don't think you'll need it, if you do want it pm me for my skype address, easiest way i know of to send files over internet. it's about 9mb in size.
