Does anyone have recipes for Indian food that they have used? I need one for Butter Chicken and Roti. They have to be ones you have tried or ones that you have tasted. I have used some from online, but they are not quite what i want.

I live in a little Northern town in Canada. We have nothing. Actually, a couple just opened up an Asian Cuisine place but it so friggen expensive I would have to get a part time job. My oldest daughters best friend is Indian, her mom made the best food. She made Roti and some other mixture of potatoes, cauliflower, peas and more. it was so good. It was just a throw everything in and no measurements too. I am a pretty good cook, so If I have the right Ingredient list I will probably do ok. I wonder sometimes why I was born Canadian when I love food from everywhere else.

well lets be honest moose isn't much of a variety even tho nice, is it? lmao
can get you a list of ingredients easy enough, but like i said earlier the measurement thing is a different matter, because i really don't think they ever measure anything. lol.

I can cook moose and you would never know it was moose. Allan hates it, or so he says. LOL He doesn't realize he eats it quite often. he just thinks its beef.

right she said roti(also know as chapati) is just chapati flour(she buys it from a shop and there are different lets say grades, depending on tastes, it's not ordinary flour think(not sure) it's 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 whole meal flour) add a little bit of water at a time to mixed into a tough dough(shouldn't be sticky) then break some off and roll it into a ball and flatten, cook it on a hot flat base(she used a frying pan round here) until it bubbles up(or slight brown spots underneath) then turn over, when it's done you can add butter on it, i just liked mine without, it's what the indian's use as a fork(oops wrong topic ;D) because they eat everything with their fingers and it. and she says if they are not round you made them wrong(mine weren't, but tasted great anyway. lol)
she said if you want you can experiment and add spices and herbs to the dough(she never did) and will give me a list later when she lets me know how to make butter chicken, she said it's just lots of butter. lol
all her food tastes great, she's actually cooking me her version of a shepherds pie at the moment of course it'll have some curry in it.mmmm lol .
i'll see if she wants to join the site she loves cooking too.

I suggest mixing some spices in a little oil and smothering your little worm. Leave in the fridge for at least 24 hours before grilling it. I doubt anyone would spit it out again
