WELL i finally went and bought myself a 1 TB external hard drive. It came today and boy does it look cool ;D It came today but I'll wait until Wednesday to set it all up. I'm hoping it will help with some of the slow running issues I've been getting recently. Any one else have any experience with these kinds of drives and have any tips to pass on ? beau

The largest drives I have are 400 gb drives. My only recommendation is to back up any data you may put on that drive as sooner or later it will die on you so you will need some redundant backup.

Hi guys - I take it they are a bit delicate then? I intend using the backup facility on the 1tb itself to make sure I can get back anything that gets lost. beau.

No more delicate than any other drive. You just want to be sure that should your primary fail that the data is safe on your backup. If I really don't want tor isk losing data have it on two separate back up drives (redundancy) , or one drive and on DVD data discs.

I never leave my external drive plugged into the computer unless I have something i am going to save. If I am not using it, its in the computer cupboard.
